Opening week in Belgium is huge and the SRAM presence at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday was pretty big as well. SRAM was represented by 5 teams in the race with Astana, Milram, Agritubel, ISD and Elk Haus Fugi all flying the Red colours. Zipp was also everywhere with Cervelo, Garmin and Saxo Bank sporting fast Carbon wheels.

Thor Hushovd took the win on Zipp wheels and SRAM although having some bad luck in the final sprint crash chaos got 2nd with Agritubels Kevin Ista putting up a great ride. Astana’s Thomas Vaitkus and Milram’s Martin Velits both crashed in the final sprint while sprinting for podium positions.
