One of SRAM’s top engineers, Scott McLaughlin, is also one of the companies best riders and, more specifically, best Cross racers. Scott is one of the brains behind SRAM’s X.0 1:1 technologies and, most recently, played a key role in the development of the technologies found inside SRAM’s three road groups (RED, Force, and Rival). Scott travelled with some of the marketing staff to Kansas City, KS, where he raced in both the Masters 35-39 and the Single Speed event. He placed an amazing 11th (with a back row start) in the Masters event and 4th in the Single Speed race.
During the Single Speed race the announcers, Richard Fries and Dave Towle, got wind of the fact (I told them) that Scott was one of the DoubleTap and Exact Actuation masterminds. They quickly uncovered the irony in the fact that here is the guy who helped design our shift systems racing a bike with only one gear, hence, this video….
Congrats to SRAM CXers Scott M. and Chris Shotwell.
