Ryan Trebon (LTS-Felt) and Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) traded wins in Fort Collins, CO, at the Exergy USGP of Cyclocross Presented by Greenware New Belgium Cup.
The second stop on the USGP presented riders very different course conditions. Saturday was all rain, mud, and bitter cold wind. Sunday was dry and deemed a roadies course, with fast conditions and temps in the 50’s.
Trebon returned to winning at the USGP races at exactly the same time he started riding SRAM, Zipp and Avid
Trebon, who rides SRAM, Zipp and Avid, won day one solo after an early challenge from Powers and Geoff Kabush (Rocky Mountain). Powers, who rides SRAM and Avid, took day two with a dramatic comeback in the final laps.
The new SRAM Pro Swag Toss, which was hosted at the SRAM-Zipp-Avid booth, was a great opportunity for fans to meet some of the top Crossers and get some free swag including hats, shirts, and wristbands. Professionals Ryan Trebon (LTS-Felt), Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus), Nicole Duke (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com), Tim Johnson (Cannondale/Cyclocrossworld.com), Meredith Miller (Cal Giant/Specialized), and Caroline Mani helped toss boatloads free stuff to the enthusiastic crowd.
Powers, who won both Saturday and Sunday’s Avid Shorty Ultimate Holeshots, is batting .750 in the competition and said he simply plans “to keep winning.” The Women’s battle continued as Nicole Duke won Saturday and Caroline Mani Sunday. Both Duke and Mani have won two apiece.
