Catching up with Ryan Trebon & his new bike

As we head towards the 2nd weekend of the USGP series we wanted to give you an insight one of our new SRAM RED athletes, Ryan Trebon & the equipment he’ll be racing with. A few month’s back we paid Ryan a visit in Bend, Oregon where he resides to check up on his new CX rig and talked shop on his new gear. It’s been a few years since Ryan was on SRAM. While on the Kodak Gallery P/B Sierra Nevada pro cycling team in ‘07 Trebon rode on the first generation of Force. Now four years later he’s racing on our complete top-level component offerings; SRAM Black RED drivetrain, Avid Shorty Ultimate brakes, Quarq Power meter & Zipp wheels along with Zipp Service Course SL handlebar & stem.

Ryan certainly impressed us with his attention to detail and knowledge of his new products. Trebon takes pride on working on his bikes understanding his equipment, which is more prevalent with our cyclecross athletes. Trebon is supported by Dusty Labaar during the race season. Dusty travels to the races on their schedule with the spare bikes, wheels and gear. He’s Ryan’s full time mechanic at the races, you’ll see Dusty in the pits or at the trailer making sure the bikes are flawless.

Trebon heads into The Exergy USGP #3 & #4 in Fort Collins, CO second overall in the standings to Bart Wellens (Telenet Fidea) just 6 points behind. We’ll certainly look for some great racing out there, as we’ll see Jeremy Powers (Rapha Focus) & Tim Johnson (Cyclecrossworld.com) hunt down some points to move up in the standings.
