We are giving the World’s Premiere Bike Technician, Ed Nasjleti (also known as Taco Ed), a few minutes a month on roadiaries.com to preach on topics that we assign. Ed’s knowledge is vast, and while we will enjoy his insights on everything bikes, we occasionally want to go off-track and ask him his opinion on subjects as varied as winter car tires, or how to buy Italian shoes, or the best way to get upgraded to first class. We hope you enjoy as much as we do hearing all the secrets of Ed’s World, where there’s plenty of room for all of us.

This week Ed tackles pronunciations, or Ednunciations. A good prelude to this story is that Ed was up in Montreal last week and kept pronouncing ‘Saint Catherines’ to his fellow SRAMees as “Sainta Katarinas.” When a Toronto native asked Ed where her was headed Ed overEdnunciated “Saint Catherines.” The local had no idea what the hell Ed was saying, eventually repeating back, “You mean Saint Catherines?” with zero accent inflection. Perfect.

As Ed’s sister I am compelled to comment on the post. I like the write-up. My question is - how would Ed pronounce Gaetan Vetois? Also - Ed, as you know, we’re watching you [insert hand gesture here, point to eyes, point to Ed].

This reminds me of the old SNL sketch with Bob Costas

Ask Ed to say - “Where’s the Kiwi?”
