Sickness has forced Romain Feillu out of the 2008 Tour de France. The popular young French rider with a string of top 3 placings and a day in the Yellow Jersey struggled today with stomach problems and finished outside the time limit. This comes only 2 days after Jimmy Casper was eliminated on Alpe d’Huez for arriving at the finish alone outside the time limit after a brave solo fight to the finish. Losing these two guys before the sprinters stage in Paris is a huge blow for the Agritubel team, but hats off to both of them for struggling to the finish and never giving up. Agritubel has 4 SRAM RED riders left to tackle the final Time Trial tomorrow and I’m sure they’ll be true to their great racing style and in the attacks on Sunday!
